Saratoga Modular Homes believes in Green Building.  That’s a popular buzzword today, but to us it’s just common sense – and its how we build every Saratoga Modular home.

Green Building is the process of designing and building homes that are healthier, more comfortable, more energy efficient, require less maintenance, and have a smaller environmental impact than conventional homes.

We're fanatical about sealing and caulking around all outlets and wall penetrations to eliminate leakage

We’re fanatical about sealing and caulking around all outlets and wall penetrations to eliminate air and moisture leakage

One of the biggest advantages of modular construction is that because they’re built inside a climate-controlled facility our homes stay dry during construction. Our modular factories are also fanatical about recycling materials and reducing material waste.  And using modular construction accelerates the building process, so the impact on your job site is minimal.

We combine modular construction with advanced building science (passive solar design, better insulation, rigorous air sealing, high-efficiency mechanical systems, plumbing and lighting fixtures) and sustainable building products.  As a result our homes are MUCH more energy efficient, comfortable, healthy, and durable than a conventional home.

Our company owner is one of the only NAHB Certified Green Professional builders in Upstate NY, and our sister company Saratoga Construction LLC is an ENERGY STAR and NGBS (National Green Building Standard) partner.  We incorporate passive solar design into every home, design our building envelopes to minimize air and moisture leakage, are advocates of emerging technologies such as solar thermal, geothermal, and photovoltaic (PV) systems, and are familiar with the tax credits and mortgage incentives that make this technology affordable to everyone.  We believe in using sustainable building products wherever practical, and building in a manner that minimizes the impact on our environment.

Want the best news of all?  It doesn’t cost much more to build “green”.  It just takes good planning and attention to detail.   Contact us today to learn more about Green Building.
